Things to Do at OLHSC

  • Pick up a walking tour guide at the Center. The tour varies in length based on your interest and time. Please wear comfortable, stable shoes, as you may walk down stairs or on uneven pavement.   • Walking the Way of the Cross - An immersive prayer walk featuring Sacred Art and the Stations of the Cross

    Enter into a moving experience of prayer through a reverent Tableau Vivant, designed to draw you more deeply into Christ’s Passion through sacred art, reflection, and contemplative walking.

    Seasonal Experience: Bethlehem

    From December 2026 – January 2027, the prayer walk experience transitions from “Walking the Way of the Cross” to “Bethlehem”, a sacred journey into the mystery and beauty of Christ’s birth.

    Special Saturday events will be offered in December 2026. Details and registration information will be announced soon.

  • Mass is offered Mon-Fri at 8:30am and 6:15pm.

    Saturday Mass is normally held at 8:30am, with the exception of 1st Saturdays. This Mass is held at 9:30am and organized by volunteers.

  • Our adoration chapel is open to the public during posted visiting hours. After hours adorers must be registered with the Center. Come and adore our Lord during your time at the Center.

  • When not scheduled for a retreat, our Holy Rosary Chapel is open during visiting hours for private prayer.

  • Grab a great Catholic book and relax in our library. It’s one of the cool spots in the summertime, but also peaceful all year. Please call ahead before making a special trip as the library is 100% staffed with volunteers.

    There is also a drop off box outside Library door if you check out a book.

  • We have two gardens, one located on the first floor and the other located outside the basement floor. Pick a spot, relax, and pray.

  • Our Center is filled with Sacred Art, most rescued from parishes that closed. You can find a wide variety of statues and pictures, mosaics, and murals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The answer is as unique as you. It depends on how long you wish to spend time in prayer, read, walk the halls, or meditate. You can visit in as little as one hour or take a half day or more. 


  • There is no cost to visit the Center during public hours. We appreciate donations which help us care for the historic building. Donations can be made in person, online, or scanning one of the QR codes around the building.

  • Yes! Please use our South entrance to enter the building. This will place you on the first floor which is where the chapels, Stations of the Cross hallway, Library, Reliquary, Gift Shop, and restrooms are located. There is also a ramp entrance to the upper courtyard. ​​

    We have an elevator that will take visitors to the basement level to visit the lower courtyard. 

    Guests who sign up special events in through the Holy Land area will be directed to an accessible entrance in the back of the building.  

    Please keep in mind our building is over 105 years old and use caution, especially in the courtyards where pavement is uneven due to natural growth of trees and settling. 

  • No, though we ask that you dress appropriately as you would if visiting your parish/church. We recommend stable, comfortable shoes, such as gym shoes as the building is large and you may do a lot of walking or standing. 

  • Sorry, pets are not permitted inside the Center or on the grounds, except when we have sponsored Pet Blessings.

  • Yes, photos for personal use are allowed and encouraged, keeping in mind you respect the space of other visitors and retreatants.

    However, we do not permit drones or photography for professional purposes unless explicit permission is granted by our managing director.

    We do not permit photos for weddings, engagements, family, dances, etc. 

  • No. However, there is a cafe adjacent to our property that is family-owned and has been a staple of the community for over 50 years. Many of our visitors, volunteers, and guests enjoy dining there. ​
