Description and Brief History

Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Library and media center is open to the general public to serve as a vital study and research resource for educators, religious and all who live in or visit the Greater Cincinnati area or visit the Center’s Internet website.

The Center library, which already boasts a collection of over 35,000 books, church documents, video and audio tapes, will be a unique resource to visit in the greater Cincinnati area as well as on the Internet.

It is designed to serve children and adults in search of family-oriented literature and entertainment.

Thanks to the donation of Cardinal Carberry’s collection from St. Louis, and donations from other personal, school and religious community collections, this facility will offer extensive theological references for serious students of all ages.

Staffed at present by volunteers (many of whom have professional backgrounds in education, library science and computer technology), the library is a state-of-the-art facility with computer and audio stations as well as portable projection equipment.

The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Catholic Library Association has given recognition and support by means of a substantial video/audio material grant.

Most renovation and set-up work is being performed by volunteer professionals and non-professionals. Their efforts began in the fall of 1997. To date, a minimum of 5,000 volunteer hours have been expended.

Volunteer help and cash donations are a much needed and appreciated blessing to this effort!

Our Lady of Light and the Holy Child Jesus of Good Health continue to bless our efforts.
